Strategic Communications

Strategic Communications oversees University-wide academic communications, internal and employee communications, and content, storytelling and social media strategy. Working closely with the Executive Vice President and Provost, this team supports the Provost’s portfolio and guides campus-wide marketing and communications planning to advance the University’s key strategic initiatives and priorities.

Media Relations

Media Relations manages and fosters relationships between UT Austin and local, regional, national and international reporters, editors and outlets to build visibility and coverage across all forms of media. Working closely with our colleges, schools and units, this team actively engages with media outlets to place and promote impactful stories, op-eds and research discoveries. Media Relations includes Issues Management, which is responsible for identifying, monitoring, analyzing and responding to issues or emergencies that affect safety or reputation.

Creative and Brand Strategy

Creative and Brand Strategy oversees and enhances UT’s visual identity, creative expression, digital experience and enterprise-level marketing strategy. This team delivers creative and digital assets that showcase the brand’s strength, distinctiveness and timelessness. This team ensures brand cohesion internally, while overseeing University-wide marketing campaigns and initiatives that bring the brand to life externally.
