Non-News Filming
On-Campus Filming
STATUS: Until further notice, non-news filming and photography is being evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Requests must be submitted at least six weeks in advance of your proposed filming date.
PLEASE NOTE: No photography or filming for commercials or advertisements is allowed on campus. University rules prohibit filming commercials or advertisements on University property, as well as filming that implies endorsement of a business or organization (including nonprofits).
University Marketing and Communications and the Office of Brand, Trademarks and Licensing are responsible for evaluating all filming requests and processing all required paperwork, including UT location permits, insurance certificates and fees. University Marketing and Communications also manages logistics and supervises film shoots.
Filming projects that require University permission and a film location permit include, but are not limited to:
- Feature films, short films, documentaries, television programs, reality TV and independent films
- Still photography (includes interior and exterior buildings on University property)
