Filming on Campus
Non-news filming and photography requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. University Marketing and Communications (UMAC) and the Office of Brand, Trademarks and Licensing are responsible for evaluating all requests and processing all required paperwork, including UT location permits, insurance certificates and fees.

Please note that University rules prohibit filming commercials or advertisements on University property, as well as filming that implies endorsement of a business or organization, including nonprofits.
Additional Information
Depending on the request, additional costs may be associated (e.g. parking, space rentals/reservations, support from UTPD, etc.) UMAC manages logistics and supervises film shoots.

Filming and photography projects that require University permission and a location permit include, but are not limited to:
- Documentaries
- Feature films
- Independent films
- Scripted and reality TV programs
- Short films
- Still photography, including interior and exterior buildings on University property
A request for non-news filming and photography on campus must be submitted at least six weeks in advance of your proposed filming date.
