College, School and Unit Filming

Liberal Arts Instructional Technology Services’ (LAITS) Dev Studio offers full-service audio and video production for speakers series, interviews, podcasts, digital learning materials and more to UT faculty and staff (fees apply).

Several professional Austin-area photographers and videographers have master service agreements on file with the University’s Business Contracts Office. Colleges, schools and units can hire any photographer or videographer with a master agreement and work with their college, school or unit’s business office to pay the vendor’s invoice. For a list of master service agreements for photo and video vendors, email texasbrand@utexas.edu.

Photographers and videographers without a master service agreement hired by a CSU do need to submit a request form for a permit to take photos or videos on campus for use by the CSU. A filming permit is required to ensure all vendors carry the necessary amount of liability insurance. A no-fee permit will be provided upon completion.

The Brand Book & Toolkit provides two types of video assets for University videos: bumper graphics and lower-third graphics in white, orange and gray.

All photo and video subjects must complete and sign a Talent Release Form (PDF). This form should be retained by the department that will own the photos and/or videos. For additional questions about model release policies, contact the Office of the Vice President for Legal Affairs.

CSUs may request captions, transcriptions or translations through Captioning and Transcription Services (fees apply).
